Matugga Beverages produce two craft rums, Matugga Spiced Rum and Matugga Golden Rum.
From their roots, buried deep in rich East African soil, their journey from the cradle has over time and distance returned them to this glorious landscape to realise their dreams.
Using the finest ingredients from the easterly region of Africa, Matugga Beverage’s premium spirits are carefully crafted in Cambridgeshire, U.K. through small batch copper pot distillation. A proud heritage, combined with playful innovation, allows them to capture the most adventurous and unique flavours of Africa.

The naturally rich, red soils of East Africa provide an ideal terrain for high-quality sugar cane, from which Matugga source the finest molasses.
The molasses are fermented for seven days before being triple-distilled in 200-litre copper pot stills, with swan neck condensers. During each successive round of distillation, their Master Distiller ensures that the heads and tails are precisely cut. This allows Matugga to extract the heart of the spirit.
The golden rum is finished in English oak casks. The result is the panoply of flavour, depth and smoothness of Matugga Golden Rum.
The story doesn’t end there.
Matugga Beverages macerate to embellish the golden rum with a uniquely East African spiced blend. Black tea, ginger, cloves, vanilla, cardamom and cinnamon craft the exquisite Matugga Spiced Rum.
