Brighton Spirits Company is the distillery behind Brighton Gin.
The company’s signature Brighton Gin was born of a passion for gin, and a passion for the place where the team live and play. Brighton Spirits Company wanted to create a gin that embodied the spirit of Brighton: unusual, playful and fiercely independent.
It started with months of experimentation with different ingredients, combinations, distilling techniques and approaches. There were more than one or two accidents along the way (but we lived to tell the tale!). There was also testing out of recipes on fellow gin-loving friends until they finally hit the perfect blend.
Brighton Gin is made with 100% British organic wheat spirit. This makes the gin super smooth, and without any of the nasties that can give you a sore and sorry head. The spirit is re-distilled with juniper, fresh orange and lime peel, locally-grown coriander seed. This is the first UK commercially grown coriander seed in over 200 years. The gin also features milk thistle which is indigenous to the South Downs.
Every bottle of Brighton Gin is hand bottled. The team stick each label on and dip every one in wax themselves: no factory production lines there. Brighton Spirits Company keeps its carbon footprint down by delivering in Brighton and Hove on their specially adapted gin bike. That’s a lot of huffing and puffing up some of those Brighton hills!
Brighton Gin can be enjoyed neat with just ice and a twist of orange, a preferred service among its drinkers. The gin also works well with a splash of quality tonic, and the team recommend a slice of orange to bring out the flavour of the citrus botanicals at their very best.
Brighton Spirits Company’s top quality ingredients, attention to detail, a focus on making each bottle of Brighton Gin perfect, and small batch production make Brighton Gin a premium product.
The team at Brighton Spirits Company had an additional reason to celebrate with Brighton Gin finishing 9th in this year’s #HotCraftSpirits competition.
